From March 1 to March 31, a competition of encyclopedic articles "Toponymy of historical Bashkortostan," organized by volunteers of the Bashkir Wikipedia, is held in Bashkortostan. The competition is implemented at the expense of a grant from the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the support of the Civil Society Assistance Fund of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The initiator of the competition, a wiki volunteer since 2012, the famous writer Guzal Sitdykova calls for fixing geographical names and popularizing their use in the original Bashkir version.
